Pelvic Ultrasound procedure is for indicating the status of endometrium, ovaries and uterus. Further, the test also supports identification and presence of pelvic collection, ovarian cysts, hydrosalpinx and other medical abnormalities that may be affecting child bearing issues of women.
  • Mostly performed on females for accessing ovaries & uterus during pregnancy for seeing condition of fetus
  • Also helps in showing size as well as shape of organs under observation
  • Images also help in providing information of any lumps/swellings present for further investigation if needed
Test Preparation:
For undertaking this test, patients require to have full bladder so as to ensure proper images are taken. For this, drinking of around 1 liter water is required between 90 minutes to an hour before appointment and requires holding the same until appointment time.

Tubal Patency Test

Tubal Patency Test
Tubal Patency Test is performed for evaluating tubal status and is part of day to day care procedure. The process does not require anesthesia and when properly performed, the majority of patients also do not complain of any pain. The test is used for conforming blockages/pelvic adhesion in as present in fallopian tubes. The tests are performed using different procedures including H.S.G, Laparoscopy, Gas Insufflation and others.
Test Types: Gas Insufflation: It is part of oldest assessment process for understanding tubal patency and do not require administering of general anesthesia. Hysterosalpingography (H.S.G.): The test includes taking X-ray of uterus & fallopian tubes and is performed in X-ray department without any requirement of general anesthesia Laparoscopy: It comprises more complex procedure and is performed under general anesthesia requiring hospital admission

Here, the end procedure followed depends upon case to case.
